Hamburg hosts Germany-China as Hoyzer compensation begins
font size

The German Football Federation (DFB) confirmed on Wednesday that Germany's friendly match with China on October 12, 2005 would be played at the AOL-Arena in Hamburg.

The DFB has promised SV Hamburg around 1.5 million euros in compensation for their suffering in the Robert Hoyzer referee scandal and the proceeds from the China game is the first installment.

Hoyzer, 25, confessed to masterminding SC Paderborn's 4-2 cup win over Hamburg in August of last year, awarding the regional side two penalties and sending off Hamburg striker Emile Mpenza.

Hamburg wanted the cup game replayed but eventually accepted the DFB's offer of compensation.
