China promises further cooperation with Asian Development BankChinese Vice Premier Huang Ju said in Beijing Friday that China wants to expand cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to boost regional development. Huang told visiting ADB president, Haruhiko Kuroda, that ADB has played a positive role in helping China develop its economy. China is ADB's third largest shareholder, said Huang. On Thursday, China donated 20 million US dollars to the ADB, setting up a regional poverty reduction fund, which will promote regional cooperation and poverty reduction of other developing countries in Asia. The bank said the fund is the first to be established by a developing nation member of the bank and the first financed by China at any international institution. |
