An exhibition featuring works by Beijing painters opened here Friday. This was the tenth of a series of exhibitions on contemporary works of traditional Chinese paintings.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the opening ceremony along with other important figures, including incumbent and former senior officials and big-name painters.

Traditional Chinese painting is considered an important part of Chinese culture. Works by Beijing painters enjoy a prominent place in this field.

The exhibition, being held in the auditorium of the CPPCC National Committee, will continue in the China Art Gallery on April 1.
