France warns its citizens against traveling to Kyrgyzstan

French Foreign Ministry on Friday warned French people against going to Kyrgyzstan at the period of instability.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean-Baptiste Mattei, France follows with greatest attention the situation in Kirghizstan and remains in contact with its diplomatic office in place to establish the situation of the French nationals who are there.

He said no French had been evacuated and that there are about 20 French citizens in Kyrgyzstan.

He added that the priority for Kyrgyzstan was to recover its stability.
