Order was gradually restored in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek Sunday morning after three-day unrest which had left some 10 people dead.
Police and volunteers joined hands to keep order in the capital, where many stores have been looted and some even burned after Thursday's riots.
Kyrgystan's interim government vowed to end the lawlessness which has driven hundreds of thousands of foreigners out of the country.
Felix Kulov, minister in charge of security in the new government, told reporters on Saturday he had given orders for police to fire in the air to fight off looters.
However, a duty officer at the Interior Ministry's press office told reporters on Sunday that there are still some reports of thefts at smaller stores and offices and a sharp increase in car thefts in the city.
He confirmed three people were killed in the capital city overnight, but adding the whole situation is normal.
