font size

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and his Sudanese counterpart Mustafa Othman Ismail held a phone conversation Monday, for an exchange of views on bilateral ties, reform of the United Nations (UN) as well as Sudan's peace process.

Ismail said Sudan welcomed the recently passed no. 1590 resolution of the UN Security Council to deploy UN peacekeepers in southern Sudan and hopes to get continuous support from the international community for its progress in attaining domestic peace.

Li said China was ready to work together with the international community to help Sudan maintain a momentum for national reconciliation and properly resolve the problem relating to the Darfur genocide as earlier as possible.
