Cambodian party leader meets with CPC delegationCambodian royalist FUNCINPEC party's Secretary General Prince Norodom Sirivuth met Monday with visiting Chinese delegation headed by Li Qinglin, deputy secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) Henan Provincial Committee. During the meeting, both sides briefed each other about their domestic political and economic condition and exchanged views on Sino-Cambodian ties and regional and international issues of common concern. Sirivuth also expressed his party and the Cambodian government's support for the Anti-Secession Law adopted by China's National People's Congress. The CPC delegation arrived here on Friday for a four-day goodwill visit at the invitation of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and FUNCINPEC. On Friday, Li Qinglin, also member of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, met with Nei Pena, member of CPP's Standing Committee. Cambodian leaders highly valued the bilateral relations between Cambodian and China during the meeting. They said Cambodian government and people will continue to inherit and develop the friendly relation between Cambodia and China nurtured by former King Norodom Sihanouk and old generations of Chinese leaders. Li Qinglin said China attaches importance to developing friendly, cooperative, and comprehensive relations with the CPP and FUNCINPEC. China is willing to work together with Cambodian side to actively promote Sino-Cambodian good-neighborly cooperative relationship and further deepen mutual understanding and belief, he said. |
