Prominent scholar Chenning Yang presented certificate to professors who are engaged by the Changjiang Program March 28 in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Commencing 1998, the "Changjiang scholar reward program" has engaged 727 professors in all.

Lisu girl wins championship in Miss Universe finals for Yunnan Region

Sino-Japanese joint climbing team enters Qomolangma base camp

Zhang Jiangyuan (2nd Right), deputy director of the Tibetan Sports Administration held a meeting at the Qomolangma base camp. A total of 49 members of the Sino-Japanese joint climbing team and supporting staffs had entered the Qomolangma base camp on March 27. Heavy wind had blown down four tents in the evening and the temperature was very low. But all members are in good condition.
