President Hu appoints 5 new ambassadors

Chinese President Hu Jintao announced on Tuesday the appointment of new ambassadors to five countries and organizations in accordance with a decision made by the National People's Congress Standing Committee.

Wu Hailong was appointed Chinese representative and ambassador to the Vienna Office of the United Nations and other international organizations, replacing Zhang Yan.

Xue Jinwei was appointed Chinese ambassador to Gabon, replacing Fan Zhenshui.

Fan Zhenshui was appointed Chinese ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, replacing Cui Yongqian.

Chen Gonglai was appointed Chinese ambassador to Niger, replacing Sun Zhaotong.

Qian Hongshan was appointed Chinese ambassador to Grenada.
