President of the Andean Parliament visits east China

Visiting President of the Andean Parliament, Enrique Urquidi, said Tuesday that he supports China's anti-secession Law and to the one-China policy.

Urquidi, who arrived in Fuzhou, capital city of east China's Fujian Province, from Beijing earlier Tuesday, made the remarks during the talks with Lin Qiang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People's Congress.

Urquidi said the Andean Community understand all efforts made by China for achieving peaceful reunification.

The Andean Community and China have great opportunities for cooperation in politics, economy, science, technology and culture, he said.

Lin said Fujian had maintained frequent exchanges with all member countries of the Andean Community, and expressed the hope that the two sides would enhance trade ties and cooperation in various fields, in a bid to contribute more to the growth of bilateral relations.

Urquidi is due to leave Fuzhou for Shanghai on Thursday.
