    Chery motors gain recognition in Egypt

    General Manager of the CIG Sales and Service Center for Chery Motors Ahmed (R) took a photo with a representative of Chery in Cairo, Egypt March 30. More than 500 Chery automobiles have been sold in Egypt since China's Chery Motor's cooperation with CIG Group in October 2004. The Chery automobiles are gradually gaining recognition from Egyptian consumers.

    Death toll rises to 27 in E. China chlorine leakage

    Fire fighters were clearing a chlorine leakage site in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province on March 30 2005. The death toll rose to 27 in a liquefied chlorine leakage accident in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, and 285 people poisoned were still being hospitalized. A tank truck carrying 35 tons of liquefied chlorine collided with a cargo truck at about 7:00 p.m. March 29 on the Huai'an section of the Beijing-Shanghai expressway.

    A shareholder contemplated inside a trading hall in Shanghai March 30. The Composite Stock Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 1,172.57 points on March 30, down 22.44 points from the previous close, witnessing a record low in six years.

    Report cleared Annan of wrongdoings in oil-for-food program
