"The development of Sino-German relations benefits the peoples of the two countries," he said. He said China and Germany are economically complementary and have great potential for trade cooperation. The two sides should enhance the cooperation on energy resources and environmental protection. Wu expressed appreciation for Germany's adherence of the one-China policy. Platzeck, who is also governor of Brandenburg, said that the relations between Germany and China have entered a new stage, and he is visiting China to promote the cooperation between the parliamentary organs as well as the exchanges between local provinces of the two countries.
