400,000-tonnage oil tanker berths at Chinese dockThe Belgium 400,000-tonnage oil tanker "TI EUROPE", the largest in the world so far, has successfully berthed at Daxie dock of Ningbo port at 6 pm on Mar. 30 in east China's Zhejiang province. It is the first successful docking of a large tonnage foreign oil tanker in Chinese port. 380 metres long and 68 metres in width, the "TI EUROPE" tanker, with a speed of 16 knots per hour and carrying capacity of 440,000 tons, was built in the year of 2002, and now it is still the largest oil tanker in the world. To ensure the successful docking of the "TI EUROPE", Ningbo Port Corporation dispatched two veteran navigation guiders. Under the convoy of marine petrol ship and one large-horsepower tugboat, the Belgium oil tanker did not berth at Daxie Crude Oil No. 1 dock until two hours efforts. By People's Daily Online
