An environment treatment project kicks off in Beijing

The Beijing Atmospheric Environment Comprehensive Treatment Project to be built with a total investment of 750 million yuan--the Beijing E-city thermoelectricity project linked to production formally kicked off on March 2. It is learned from the Beijing Electronic Holding Co. Ltd. that this project, when completed, will supply heat to an area of 5.1 million square meters, steam refrigeration area in summer will stand at 600,000 square meters, its power supply capacity will reach 120,000 kilowatts, fully capable of meeting the power demands of hi-tech enterprises and residents in the Jiuxianqiao E-city district.

It is reported that the E-city thermoelectricity project linked to production mainly uses loans from the International Cooperation Bank of Japan, the amount of loans stands at 8.963 billion yen (equivalent to about 600 million yuan). The project, after completed, will replace 102 units of low heat efficiency, high coal consumption and serious pollution small boilers in the original 41 boiler rooms in the E-city district. It is said that equipment debugging of the project will begin early next year, and will formally go into operation in winter next year.
