font size

China-Europe relations and exchanges between China's legislature and the European Parliament were among the topics of a meeting between Cheng Siwei, a senior Chinese legislator, and European Parliament Vice President Miroslav Ouzky in Beijing Monday afternoon.

Miroslav Ouzky of the Czech Republic was elected as one of the vice presidents of the European Parliament in 2004 following the enlargement of the European Union.

Cheng, vice chairman of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, briefed Ouzky on China's economy and society.

During the meeting in the Great Hall of the People here, the two sides exchanged views on how to further promote the relations between China and Europe and to increase exchanges between the NPC and the European Parliament.

Ouzky and his entourage are here for a visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
