Construction of large-scale coastal defense infrastructure gears up

National Frontier Defense Commission recently proved the establishment of a "national coastal defense infrastructure construction expert warehouse", and now the first construction of a large-scale coastal defense infrastructure since the founding of the People's Republic of China is in full swing.

It is reported that since Apr. 1,2005, the final confirmation of all the plans and projects of the key coastal defense infrastructure construction as well as technical indexes have to be consulted and proved by experts. The first group of experts selected consists of well-known national, military experts, professors and engineers, and their specialties cover many aspects of the construction of coastal defense infrastructure.

Meanwhile, National Frontier Defense Commission will further strengthen the "expert warehouse" so as to meet the requirement of the construction of coastal defense development. Additionally, the commission will also bring the technique guidance and technique supervision function of experts into full play, consolidating the role of technical guarantee, unifying the technical system and standard as well as ensuring the quality of the construction.
