Students place white flowers at the Memorial Hall for Compatriots killed in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Forces of Aggression on April 5, at "Qingming", the Chinese traditional "Festival of Pureness and Brightness" to mourn ancestors and deceased relatives. People flocked to the memorial on that day to pay tribute to Chinese martyrs and the 300, 000 compatriots killed by Japanese invaders in the massacre in 1937.
