Tibet to tap China's largest copper mine
A signing ceremony for joint exploitation and construction agreement for Tibet's Yulong Copper Mine was held in Lhasa Tibet on April 6th. Construction of the Yulong copper mine will kick off at the end of September 2005 and the mine is to put into production within three years. The copper deposit of the mine amounts to 6.5 mln tons and the long-term reserves reaches 10 mln tons. It is regarded as Asia's 2nd largest and China's largest copper mine.
