Chinese state councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Wednesday hoped for better China-Japan economic and trade cooperation.
Tang stated the economies of China and Japan are highly complementary and cherish great potential in cooperation, saying the economic and trade ties have played an important role in the state-to-state relations.
Tang made the remarks on Wednesday morning in a meeting with Tasuku Takagaki, vice president of the Japanese Council for the Promotion of International Trade and senior advisor of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd.
In recent years, Tang said, bilateral cooperation and exchanges in the financial sector have been strengthened in a continuous way, which helps extend and deepen the Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation that is in the interests of the two peoples.
Tasuku Takagaki briefed Tang on the current circumstances of the Japanese banking sector and especially the development of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd.
Yang Zilin, chairman and governor of Export-Import Bank of China, was present at the meeting.
