An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale jolted the Indonesian island of Nias Friday, where an 8.2-magnitude quake flattened buildings and killed over 650 people on March 28.

The Jakarta-based meteorology and geophysics agency (BMG) said the tremor occurred at 12:48 local time (05:48 GMT).

The epicenter was located 125 km southeast of the Nias capital of Gunung Sitoli.
