The death toll of Cairo bomb blast late Thursday is three, including a Frenchwoman and a US national, Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Maghrabi said Friday.
A French woman was killed and unfortunately a US national died overnight of his wounds, the minister told reporters in the Hussein hospital where the wounded of the blast were being treated.
The third victim has not yet been identified, Maghrabi added.
Some media reports said the third dead was the bomber himself.
Maghrabi, meanwhile, noted that three Americans, two French and four Egyptians were still being treated at the hospital, adding one of the French nationals was in serious condition while the other wounded were stable.
An explosion took place at around 5:00 p.m. (1500 GMT) on Thursday in an open-air market close to al-Azhar mosque in Cairo, one of the most revered shrines in the Sunni Muslim world.
No group have claimed responsibility so far, while police have been working hard to look into the assault and determine its cause.
