Sudan on Saturday announced the lifting of restrictions on the movements of American diplomats in the country, imposed in retaliation for similar measures announced by Washington.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail told Sudan's official news agency that restrictions on American diplomats' movements will be lifted on Monday, in response to a similar move made by Washington last week.
Sudan began restricting movements of American diplomats and members of non-governmental organizations in the country on March 17 in what it said was a response to Washington's restrictions on Sudanese diplomats in recent years.
Also on Saturday, Sudan sent a delegation to Chad to hold talks with President Idriss Deby, whose government on Friday accused Sudan of recruiting and training Chadian rebels in an effort to overthrow the Chadian government.
Sudan's ruling National Congress Party, which promised to investigate the accusations, termed it as a "misunderstanding" that could be cleared through official channels.
