Airbus transfers wing technique to China
font size

Further progress has been made in the transfer of aircraft-manufacturing techniques by Airbus to China, with Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Company's first delivery of a wing section of Airbus A320 series. China so far has become Airbus' first cooperative partner outside European continent.

The delivered rear edge of A320 wing consists of more than 500 parts including supplementary beam, inner rear bean, outer ream as well as the pillar of main landing gear, slant support and hoisting jack. All these parts require nearly 20 different kinds of new materials and techniques, and the technical complexity of wing manufacture and assembly represents more than one third of an aircraft's total construction.
