Chinese and Bangladeshi top law makers agreed in Beijing Tuesday to further parliamentary exchanges to deepen the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

China and Bangladesh established full diplomatic ties in 1975.

Wu said China and Bangladesh enjoy traditional friendship and the cooperation between the two sides have been progressing smoothly during the past years.

He said Sircar's visit to China coincides with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Bangladesh.

"I believe the high-level visits of the two countries' leaders will surely help strengthen the bilateral ties," said Wu.

Wu said China values its friendship with Bangladesh and is willing to improve trade and economic cooperation with Bangladesh.

He also expressed China's appreciation to Bangladesh for its support on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and human rights.

Sircar said China is Bangladesh's major trade partner and the economic cooperation between the two sides benefit the Bangladeshi people and the country's economy.

He also reiterated that the Bangladeshi government, parliament and people will firmly abide by the one-China policy.
