China, Vietnam vow to strengthen exchanges, cooperation

Two high-ranking officials of China and Vietnam vowed Monday to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries so as to push forward bilateral ties.

Sino-Vienamese relations have advanced substantially over recent years under the guideline of "securing long-term stability, looking to the future, boosting neighborly friendship and exploring all-around collaboration", and new achievements have been made one after another in various areas between the two countries, said Liu Yandong, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), while meeting a visiting Vietnamese delegation.

The delegation, led by Le Thanh Dao, executive vice-chairman of the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, came here Sunday at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

China is willing to make joint efforts with Vietnam to enhance trust and cooperation in a bid to advance bilateral ties and to make the two countries be long-lasting close neighbors, friends, comrades, and partners, Liu told the guests.

While Le said that Vietnam and China should strengthen exchanges and learn from each other since the two countries have a lot in common, for instance, we are both a country with multi-nationality and multi-religion. He meanwhile spoke highly of CPC's ethnic and religious policies.

Also Monday, Liu met with a Benin delegation of political parties, led by Emmanuel Golou, general secretary of the Parti Social Democrate.
