Machine tool show lures overseas exhibitors

Visitors consult the employee of a machine tool enterprise at the 9th China International Machine Tool Show.

The 9th China International Machine Tool Show opened in the International Exhibition Center of Beijing on April 11, 2005. Some 1,000 enterprises from 26 countries and regions including China, Germany, the US, the UK, Japan, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, ROK and India have participated in the 7-day show. Of the exhibitors 50 percent are from abroad.

Machine tool's sales volume had reached US$ 9.4 bln in Chinese mainland in 2004, exceeding the record of US$ 8.9 bln set in the US in 1998. The China International Machine Tool Show has become one of four world-class machine tool exhibitions. At the exhibition the China Machine Tool Association named ten machine tool plants including Shenyang, Qinchuan machine tool plants as best numeric control machine tool factories; ten enterprises including Dalian, Shenyang machine tool factories top ten enterprises in terms of sales revenue; enterprises including Feida, Tiangong top 10 enterprises in generating foreign exchanges.
