The All China Youth Federation and its honorary Chairman Zhou Qiang has won the UNEP's first "Champion of Earth" award for erecting a model for the entire world, the United Nations Environment Program announced in Nairobi, capital of Kenya on April 12.

The All China Youth Federation and Zhou Qiang have made "outstanding achievements" in promoting "Protect Mother River" program and protecting environment. Having mobilized 300 million Chinese youth to participate in environmental protection, the "Protect Mother River" has done outstanding contribution to the cause of environment protection in China and world.

The award presentation ceremony will be held in the UN Headquarters in New York April 19.
