The investigation result of the March "Residents' assessment of Hong Kong's present economic state"published most recently by the Economics Department of Hong Kong Chinese University shows that Hong Kong people's consumption confidence index, emotional index and employment confidence index respectively rose 4.7 percent, 4.4 percent and 12.9 percent over last December, all setting a new high in the past five years.

The investigation was conducted on March 30, in which 502 local residents aged 18 or above were surveyed.
