    "Living Ancient Town of A Thousand Years"

    The photo taken on April 12, 2005 shows a view of Xitang Town in Jiashan County in east China's Zhejiang Province. Xitang is reputably called the "Living Ancient Town of A Thousand Years" as it features a lot of well-protected dwelling houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).

    Avon approved to test direct sale in China

China gave green light to Avon to test direct selling of its products in Beijing, Tianjin and Guangdong, which makes Avon the first one to get approval for direct selling on trial in China.

    Road accident in Sichuan kills 24

    Ren Zhonghua, a man who is injured in a big traffic accident, rests on his sickbed in the provincial first aid center in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, April 13, 2005. The accident happened at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday when a bus fell down from a steep cliff within the territory of Aba Prefecture of Sichuan. 24 passengers died in the accident, 13 others were injured.

    Inner Mongolia holds fossil show

    The photo taken on April 13, 2005 shows a bird fossil belonging to the early Cretaceous period which is unearthed in Ningcheng County, Chifeng City of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.The fossil was among many precious paleontological fossils shown to the public recently in the Inner Mongolia Museum. Since the 1920s, lots of fossils including all species of dinosaur fossils have been unearthed within the territory of Inner Mongolia.

    Husband proved innocent after 11 years in jail

    She Xianglin (C), a former security guard who spent 11 years in jail after being convicted of slaying his wife, walks into the People's Court of Jingshan County in central China's Hubei Province, on April 13, 2005. A verdict was announced by the court on Wednesday that She Xianglin was innocent.
