font size

The Australian missile frigate HMAS Canberra Wednesday concluded a six-day goodwill visit to Shanghai and left the city.

It was the first visit by HMAS Canberra and the seventh by an Australian navy vessel to this largest city of China.

The frigate, with 184 officers and soldiers, is captained by Ray Leggatt. During their ship's stay, the Australian crew visited the Chinese naval fleet anchored in the Shanghai port, toured local scenic spots, and had meetings and exchanges with Chinese naval officers and local government officials.

Officers and soldiers of the two navies also had friendly basketball and push-and-pull matches.
