Annual Boao Forum of Asia to be held in late AprilLong Yongtu, general secretary of Boao Forum of Asia, announced in Beijing press conference on April 13 that the 2005 annual conference of Boao Forum of Asia will be held on 23-24 April in Boao, a tranquil town in south China's Hainan province. Among the participants will include John Winston Howard, Prime Minister of Australia, Datuk Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Wolfgang Schussel, Prime Minister of Austria, Gyanendra, King of Nepal and Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's Minister Mentor as well as more than 800 former chief political leaders, high-level governmental officials, personages of industrial and commercial circles and well-known scholars etc. Long pointed out that the theme of the current Boao Forum of asia is "Asia in pursuit of a win-win modality and commitment for all". All the participants will debate and exchange views on such major topics as Asia's new role in the process of economic globalization, harmonious development of Asian society, future of Asia-Europe cooperation and monetary policies. The forum, with cooperation with the World Bank, will issue the report of 2005 Asia Integration at the annual conference for the first time. The current annual conference will witness the most participants and the highest level of personages from the industrial and commercial circles, including global presidents and Asian region presidents from more than 100 multinationals.
