Four earthquakes shook western Java of Indonesia on Friday, with the strongest one measuring at 6.2 on the Richter scale, according to the Indonesian meteorology and geophysics agency (BMG).
Two earthquakes were felt in the West Java capital of Bandung and two others, centered beneath the Sunda Strait, rocked Jakarta, Banten and the Sumatra province of Lampung.
BMG staff Budi Waluyo said the latest quake at 11:18 local time(04:18 GMT) measured at 6.2 on the Richter scale and was centered in the Sunda Strait, which separated the main islands of Java and Sumatra.
"We will check again the magnitudes as we are now collecting data," Budi was quoted by Detikcom online news service as saying.
