A Chinese official on Taiwan affair Friday briefed military attaches of foreign embassies in Beijing on the recently-adopted Anti-Secession Law.
Zhang Mingqing, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, China's cabinet, briefed the audience on the background of China's enacting of the Anti-Secession Law and its significance for maintaining China's reunification and territorial integrity and for maintaining the peace and stability in North Asia.
Approximately 50 military officers from 40 foreign embassies in Beijing attended the session given by the Foreign Affairs Office of China's Defense Ministry.
China enacted the Anti-Secession Law aimed at opposing and checking the secession of Taiwan from China by the Taiwan secessionist forces, Zhang said.
