Greek and Chinese legislators have pledged efforts to promote exchanges between their parliaments and boost cooperation between the two countries.

At a meeting on Friday with First Deputy President of the Greek Parliament Sotirios Chatzigakis, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China He Luli said the relations between the two countries have developed smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic ties, and the recent years have witnessed a constant progress of their cooperation in the fields of politics, trade and cultural exchanges.

The next Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2008 and the Shanghai International Expo in 2010 offer new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for their friendly cooperative relations are very promising, the Chinese legislator added.
