Nigerian President Olusegun obasanjo said in Shanghai Sunday that his the current visit to China not only to enhance the relations between Nigeria and China, but also to learn from China's experience in economic and social development.
Nigerian President flew in to Shanghai, the economic hub of China, from Hubei Province on Sunday afternoon.
This is his third visit to China during his presidency.
Obasanjo said he had learned many things from the rapid development of China every time he came to the country. He has always regarded China as a lighthouse that guides the direction of the world's development in the new century.
Obasanjo met with Shanghai Mayor Hang Zheng Sunday evening. Hang expressed the wish to further expand trade and economic cooperation between Shanghai city and Nigeria. In 2004, Shanghai accounted for one-tenth of China's total trade volume with Nigeria.
After the meeting, Obasanjo took a tour around the Shanghai city.
