Modern Chinese retail industry keeps sustained growth

The latest survey on Chinese retail market 2004 conducted by AC Nielson, the global leader in market research, information and analysis, showed that the traditional trades are rapidly transforming towards the modern industries in China, the world's most dynamic retail market.

According to the statistics by AC Nielson, the stores of modern industries have increased by 35 percent. Among the total increase, the amount of shopping malls has increased by 37 percent from that in 2003; in terms of the sales of fasting-moving consumer goods, the modern sales realised income of 13 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21 percent, accounting for one third of the nation's total.
