New petrol vessel Marine Patrol 31 of Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration (GDMSA) arrived at Hong Kong Wednesday for a three-day visit.

A group of China Maritime Safety Administration officials led by GDMSA Director General Wang Xiangtao were aboard the ship. They will visit Hong Kong Marine Department's (MD) Vessel Traffic Center and Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Center and exchange experience with MD officials on port operations and management.

As Marine Patrol 31 entered into Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor, the Hong Kong Government Flying Service helicopters carried out a joint deck-landing exercise on the vessel's helipad.

The vessel berthed at Hong Kong Macao Ferry Terminal outer pier.

Hong Kong's Permanent Secretary for Economic Development and Labor Sandra Lee and Director of Hong Kong Marine Department Tsui Shung-yiu were present to greet the visiting officials of the Chinese mainland.

Marine Patrol 31 is a 3,000-ton class, ocean-going patrol vessel with 112.8 meters length overall and 13.8 meters breadth. It is currently the Chinese mainland's largest and most modern ocean-going vessel. It is built with a helipad and carries an EC- 135P2-type helicopter on board.
