font size

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to step up exchanges and cooperation with all political parties in Spain so as to promote the development of the relations between China and Spain, a senior CPC official said here Wednesday.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark during a meeting with visiting President Francisco Javier Rojo Garcia of the Spanish Senate.

Wang said the friendly exchanges among political parties of the two countries played an active role in pushing forward relations between the two countries.

Rojo said Spain is ready to lift bilateral relations to a new level. He said Spain will continue to stick to the one-China policy and push for an early abolishment of the European Union's arms embargo on China.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
