Traditional retailing down

A latest survey by ACNielsen shows that the retailing in traditional business comes to a standstill in 2004.

The number of traditional grocery stores and vendor booths slipped downed from 2003. Sales of fast consumer goods also dropped.

However, 28 percent more outlets for cosmetic are open to business in 2004.

Yet grocery stores and vendor booths still create 60 percent of fast consumer goods in China.

Modern retailers are growing up rapidly at 35 percent in 2004.
