WWF: Chinese businesses attach importance to environment
font size

WWF, World Wild Fund for Nature, declared in its latest report on April 20 that a large part of Chinese enterprises are more environmentally aware than expected.

The result was based on its survey to 182 largest and most important Chinese companies whose business range from information technology, energy, finance to life science and consumer products.

All the companies recognize the significance of environmental protection and more than half of them include the idea into their core values.

22 percent of the respondents say the companies have environmental standards even stricter than what have been set by the law. 13 percent call for more stringent laws and regulations for environmental protection.

WWF thinks too much attention have been paid to those who are damaging the environment. It has strongly advised support to those who have better awareness of environmental protection so that they not only provide solution to China's environmental issue but also make greater contribution to the global environmental improvement.
