"Our investment in China will centre on the exploration of platinum and coal resources," said the high-ranking officials with Anglo American, a global leader in mining and natural resources.
Tony Trahar, CEO of Anglo American, noted that from the view of consumption and productive capacity, China now plays a vital role in the global natural resources market, and everyone that has set foot in this field could not underestimate the lever effect China has so far played in the global market.
Trahar pointed out that Anglo American will not only provide China with resources products, but also seek further investment opportunities in China. The small-scale investment projects such as the coalmine, papermaking and zinc melting have already accumulated rich experience for them to further expand their business operation in China. The next key emphasis in work will be laid on the exploitation of platinum and coal resources.
"Chinese government is now trying its best to improve the coalmine safety and raise the environmental protection standard, which will boost the confidence of foreign companies to invest in the country," further added Trahar.
