4 Chinese brands in global top 500Haier, Lenovo, CCTV and Changhong have been listed in World Brand Lab's global top 500 brands made public recently. Haier has leveled up its ranking to the 89th from the 95th last year. Lenovo has nudged into the list as the 148th with its acquisition of IBM's PC assets. CCTV and Changhong stands at the 341st and the 477th. Coca-Cola has secured its top position, followed by Microsoft which was formerly occupied by McDonald. Google has replaced Nokia as the third. World Brand Lab is solely funded by icxo.com which is led by Nobel Laureate for economics Robert Mundell. The result for this year's list is based on a half-year survey on 3000 world renowned brands whose market share, brand loyalty and global leadership have all been evaluated. The top 500 brands are from 28 countries. 249 of them are American brands which possess 9 out of the top 10.
