Kazakhstan offers economic aid to Kyrgyzstan
font size

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said in Alma Ata Friday that his country will provide economicassistance including wheat and fuel to Kyrgyzstan.

Nazarbayev told reporters after talks with visiting Kyrgyz Prime Minister Kurmanbek Bakiyev that Kazakhstan will soon send 1,000 tons of wheat to Kyrgyzstan whose grain stockpiles are running out.

Nazarbayev also announced the decision to send 10,000 tons of fuels to help Kyrgyz farmers in spring ploughing.

During the talks on Friday, Nazarbayev and Bakiyev discussed bilateral relations and Kazakhstan's economic aid to Kyrgyzstan, which had been mired in political upheaval earlier this year.
