DPRK says S. Korea army fires at it across border
font size

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Saturday that the South Korean army fired a shell at its post across the Military Demarcation Line.

Soldiers at a South Korean guard post on the eastern sector of the border fired a shell at around 7:30 a.m., said the DPRK's military sources. "The shell dropped just near a post of the Korean People's Army, posing a grave threat to the lives of KPA servicemen who were conducting their routine guard duty," the sources added.

However, South Korea's Defense Ministry said no shooting was made from the South Korean side and it might have been a mine explosion.
