Roh, Hill discuss stalled six-party talks
font size

S.Korean President Roh Moo-hyun has discussed with visiting US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill the stalled six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported Tuesday.

"Assistant Secretary of State Hill visited Cheong Wa Dae yesterday in a farewell visit as US ambassador to South Korea," Roh's spokesman Kim Man-soo was quoted as saying, adding the meeting lasted about half an hour and they discussed the six-party talks and all aspects of the Korean peninsula nuclear issue.

Hill is on a three-nation Asian tour that will also take him to China and Japan to discuss ways to resume the stalled six-party talks, Yonhap said.

Three rounds of the six-party talks have been held to try to resolve the nuclear confrontation between the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The six-party talks have been stalled since June last year as the DPRK accused the United States of adopting a hostile policy toward it.
