Xinjiang International Travel Festival to be held in June in Ili

2005 Xinjiang International Travel Festival -- Ili Grassland Scenery Tour, will be held in the city of Yili, a beautiful "southern-type fields north of the Great Wall'' from June 20 to August 20, 2005 reported Ma Cen, a reporter with People's Daily.

The Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture held successfully large-size activities including "southern-type fields north of the Great Wall'' - Ili Summer Tourism Festival and Ili Heavenly Steed Festival & Border Trade Fair in 2000, attracting many businesspeople and travelers from both home and abroad according to the introduction by Duo Zhenguo, director of the tourism bureau of the Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. The 2005 Xinjiang International Travel Festival -- Ili Grassland Scenery Tour will hold a series of rich and colorful festive activities including academic exchanges, economic and trade talks, recreational and sports activities and sightseeing, fully showing the fertile land endowed with the fine spirits of the universe and bringing her infinite glamour to people.

The activities are sponsored jointly by the tourism administration of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the People's Government of the Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. The tourism bureau of the Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, the Wuxi Tourism Bureau and Nantong Tourism Bureau will jointly undertake these activities.
