font size

By March 31 financial reserves of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) have reached 296 billion HK dollars, increasing by 20.7 billion year on year. Meanwhile another 700 million have been offset by necessary provision. Therefore the HKSAR financial surplus for the year is 21.4 HK dollars.

Preliminary statistics on the 04-05 financial year released by the HKSAR government on April 27 show that the provision was made for the drop in market value of financial reserves invested in foreign exchange funds during January 1 to March 31.
