Tianjin reports biggest increase of intellectual property applications

The Tianjin Intellectual Property Bureau received 8,406 applications for intellectual property, up 23.45 as against same period of last year. The average increase of application number has topped other cities for four consecutive years.

Tianjin will found an intellectual property college. It will earmark 200 million yuan encouraging enterprises, research institutes and colleges to engage in independent development and research. In the meantime, increased support will be given to patent applications. The city will increase special fund for intellectual property from 3 million to 6 million yuan as from 2005.
