According to the report the TCL Group, with the globalization as its goal has paved a road for internationalization. April 27 saw the TCL Group signed an agreement with the Delong Company in Italy via visual-telephone at Huizhou, Guangdong for setting up the TCL-Delong Household Electric Appliance (Zhongshan) Co. Ltd. for the production of movable air-conditioner and humidity-extractor.

In 1986, the Delong Company succeeded in the invention of movable air-conditioner, the first of its kind in the world and in 2004 the total sales of the movable air-conditioner reached around 2 million sets in the world from among which the Delong Company stood out at the top of it with a sales volume of some 300,000 sets. Over a score of years in the past the movable air-conditioner has witnessed a stable increase in the Euro-American market while it has seen a day-by-day obvious increase in the Asian market along with the growth of social economy.

The first lump of investment of the TCL-Delong Household Electric Appliance (Zhongshan) Co. Ltd. will come up to 12.5 billion US dollars with each side to hold an equal share of 50 percent. The project is going to be launched in May and put into operation in October with the total production capacity to reach 1.5 million sets in 2008 so as to become the global largest base for producing the movable air-conditioner and humidity-extractor. According to the plan, the Delong Company will shift the production of movable air-conditioner and humidity-extractor disposed all over the world to the newly-established joint-venture company in a span of two years.

At present, the Delong Company has possessed over 30 kinds of core technology with patent rights. And after the establishment of the joint-venture company a special detachment for the study and research of the technology will be set up. On the basis of sharing the technology developed by the Delong Company efforts will be made to develop products catering to the needs of different markets. In line with the agreement reached by the two parties the joint-venture is going to develop and turn out the two kinds of air-conditioners and humidity-extractors branded respectively as TCL and Delong. And so far as the distribution is concerned the sales will be carried out via Delong channel in the Euro-American market and in the Asian and newly-booming markets it will be distributed by way of the TCL sales channel.
