Lien offers reconciliation in meeting with Hu

KMT chairman, general secretary of CPC Central Committee meet

Visiting Kuomintang Chairman Lien Chan Friday offered reconciliation in a historic meeting with General Secretary Hu Jintao of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, saying "We cannot change the past, but we can grasp the opportunities of the future."

The meeting, held in the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing, is the first between top leaders of the two parties in 60 years.
